Enhancing E-commerce Ad Tracking for Amare Global with NexLaunch

NexLaunch improved Amare Global's advertising tracking issues on its custom e-commerce website.

The Project Scope

NexLaunch was tasked with addressing Amare Global’s advertising tracking issues on its custom e-commerce website. The project’s first phase involved finding the problem with the current setup, which was not recording sales events correctly to be able to measure results and make data-driven decisions. Once we figured out the issue we had to set up the tracking correctly for all advertising campaigns on multiple platforms, including Google Ads, Meta Ads, Pinterest Ads, and Bing Ads.

We implemented a comprehensive tracking system using Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to monitor essential e-commerce events across all advertising platforms.

The Solution

NexLaunch successfully resolved Amare Global's advertising tracking issue by implementing a comprehensive tracking solution. This involved setting up Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to track critical e-commerce events accurately. The installation of a Data layer on the order confirmation page enabled precise tracking of order values and IDs, crucial for effective analytics. Testing and optimization ensured the entire tracking system operated flawlessly.

Phase 01

Initial Setup

NexLaunch implemented a comprehensive tracking system using Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to monitor essential e-commerce events, such as page views, add-to-cart actions, and purchases, across all advertising platforms. The key components of this phase included:

  • Created a Tag Manager container.
  • Established tags, triggers, and variables to track ecommerce conversions for each advertising platform.
Google Analytics 4
  • Created a GA4 data stream.
  • Configured Google Analytics 4 properties to receive data from the tracking setup.

Data Layer Implementation

Amare Global’s custom website posed a challenge, being custom it was difficult to install a data layer making it impossible to accurately track sales. NexLaunch collaborated with the Amare IT team as well as our Google Reps to install DataLayer code that would facilitate precise tracking of purchase data and other conversions.

The primary objective was to establish a data layer to accurately track order values and order IDs so purchases could be traced back to an individual.

  • Worked with Google Tag Manager and Amare IT teams to install DataLayer code on the order confirmation page.
  • Ensured that the data layer was properly integrated to track values accurately.
  • Highlighted the importance of the data layer for accurate tracking in GA4 Ecommerce.
  • Provided guidance on placing the JavaScript code on the order confirmation page before the closing body tag.
  • Detailed the IT department’s role in inserting dynamic values for each data field within the code.
